In 2000, the member states of the United Nations have agreed the 8 millennium goals towards 2015. The current 17 sustainable development goals have started in 2015 and run towards the Agenda 2030 where we have committed ourselves to the climate convention of Paris.
The only way to make things happen is to take action.
That is why we have created ACT!
The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. The 17 goals are all interconnected, and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve them all by 2030.
The sustainability of our services is an important issue for us, In fact it supersizes in our setup of the companies main goals. Do good for the world.
Every day, we are seeking new ways of implementing sustainability in our solutions products which we do by collaborating with other companies and organisations. Also by attending congresses and events like smart city expo and Europoort and we like to engage others to change. Currently, we are achieving sustainable solutions in numerous of verticals like Maritime, offshore and property.
GOAL 3: Good Health and Well-being
We bring a huge cost reduction in all equipment that is experiencing wear and tear. This equipment is usually serving the well being of persons like medical, goods for elderly like elevators, energy like windmills etc. We create an ecosystem that s essential to sustainable development.
GOAL 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
ACT is involved in Vessels that brings glacier water from Greenland to places that have limited access to drinking water. These vessels are sailing and being maintained in a sustainable way. Our algorithm saves 30% fuel and also 30 % emission. Also the tankers are reused after a full cleaning process. Together with our predictive maintenance and machine learning we bring the water to the destination to be consumed by those who need it the most.
GOAL 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
Our software and setup provides new opportunities for countries creating new job opportunities and also increase of economic standards. If we increase the accasebility of the basic needs we can increase economic growth resulting in a virtuous circle in the economy.
GOAL 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Our software as such integrates data from in and external sources. Together with algorithms we create, develop and empower communities and ecosystems improving sustainability. This can be from Transport and logistics towards energy and optimising connected solutions.
GOAL 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Data in cities have no meaning. Data that has meaning and that can be combined offer sustainability possibilities and conform for inhabitants. We integrate data points resulting in optimising mobility, air quality and inclusiveness as it concerns all inhabitants regardless of sex, religion or race.
GOAL 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
If you can predict in meta terms in energy consumption, food consumption, maintenance etc you can optimise transport and reduce waste and increase quality of life
GOAL 13: Climate Action
For ACT this is one of the most important goal. A big vessel creates as much CO2 as 84000 cars. And we haven't even talked about particulate matter and nitrogen where the emissions as they are many times greater. In 2015, we committed globally to the Paris Climate Agreement. The focus is on energy transition and small consumers such as cars, but the diesel engines on ships are not mentioned. We have already achieved success in various verticals and we can certainly save fossil fuel in the deep and short sea and thus emissions by 30%. With lower emissions and lower fuel consumption, this is a win-win-win situation for the industry. Society and the environment with which the targets can be achieved before 2030.
With this we create the new standard in which the problem finances the solution.
GOAL 15: Life on Land
The expectation is that the sea level will increase because of the climate change. The rase will come of ice and fletcher melting resulting that some countries will be flooded. This means that we need to reduce climate change, Goal 13 but also use the melting water wisely and transport this to place where people are in need for drinking water. Vessels that transport water from glaciers that are melting transport water in bulk to countries in need or where the production of water is expensive. This results in many SDG’s but also life on land as it creates irrigation optimisation and transport of water to place where water is rare.
