Born and raised in Rotterdam, Han has returned to the Harbor city. Han holds a Bachelor in Electronics, Job Market Politics and Human Resource Management and various shipping Master classes for Legal, Tanker and Dry Bulk Chartering, Time-chartering, Operations, Laytime for Tankers and others.
After starting his professional career at sea on board a variety of ocean going vessels , he became an experienced commercial shipping professional and partner in RMCA, an independent shipbroker for cargoes, sale and purchase and ship finance. Later under his Directorship this company also became Ship Owners and Managers.
As from 2004, Han became also director of a successful shipping company in Rotterdam. Since 2013 he is sharing his knowledge and experience on new and sustainable ways in the shipping industry at the Erasmus University and the Maritime Logistics University of STC in Rotterdam. In 2019 he became interim Director of STC Training & Consultancy providing high quality learning solutions for the International Maritime and Logistics Industry.
As entrepreneur he developed strategic investment models for commercial shipping multiplying the returns of ship investments and the income of ships with unheard numbers.
With a strategic personal goal to help making the world more sustainable, he believes that by sharing knowledge, especially in his own forgotten industry, the world can be made more greener. With his additional positions as Executive Director of Global Ship Agencies Network GSAN and Member of the Bimco Documentary Committee and Chairman of the Dutch Shipbrokers’ Association (NZS) he is serving the industry with IT based quality solutions in a shared Eco system.
